Our Favorite Ideas for Kong Stuffing
Recipe 1:
Shredded carrots, pumpkin puree, applesauce (1 ingredient: apples, no sugar added), and chopped spinach. Mix them, stuff your kong with the mixture, and seal the hole with peanut butter. Optional: Feed it after sticking it in the freezer for a few minutes on a hot summer day.
When it comes to pumpkin puree, make sure you're giving your dog the healthy stuff that doesn't have any added sugar (definitely don't use pumpkin pie filling).
If your dog's tummy isn't feeling well, this is a good choice!
Mixing the pumpkin with oatmeal, rice, peanut butter, or meat is a great way to slip in some healthy fibre as well.
Mix and let sit for about 20 minutes when mixing pumpkin and oatmeal. You can also refrigerate.

Mix tendered chicken, cooked rice (or plain mashed potatoes), diced carrots and peas. Mix them all and stuff in the kong. If your dog is not dairy sensitive, you can top this one off with some shredded cheese. Yum!
Recipe 4:
A sweet treat for your dog can be prepared by mixing some chopped strawberries and blueberries in plain natural yogurt and putting it in the freezer for a little while, so it's like a doggy fro-yo! If your dog doesn't like berries, try bananas!

You can also mash together banana and peanut butter - that is usually a hit!

KONG Tips:
- DON'T use foods high in sugar or salt, and stay away from any foods that contain xylitol
- Always clean the toy after play or training is finished. Do not use harsh chemicals to clean but rather hot water and natural soap.
